Are You a Leader Who Sees Problems, Builds Solutions, and Gets Results?
Southwestern Ontario | $100,000–$150,000 Annually
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Watford
Work Location: In Person
We're looking for a driven, hands-on agricultural leader who thinks like an owner, leads by example, and takes pride in building efficient, successful operations. We want someone who understands agriculture, enjoys solving challenging problems, makes confident decisions, and knows how to turn information into action. Someone who is just as comfortable analyzing data and building systems as they are walking through a cattle barn, leading employees, or getting their boots dirty.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
✅ Build Something, Don't Just Maintain It: Help develop two new cattle facilities while creating the systems, processes, and structure that will support future growth.
✅ Lead People, Not Just Operations: Build capable teams, establish accountability, and create an environment where people take pride in their performance.
✅ Turn Ideas Into Results: Identify problems, challenge existing practices, and implement measurable improvements. We want someone who sees opportunities where others see obstacles.
✅ Combine Agriculture With Business Leadership: Apply your practical cattle knowledge alongside data analysis, budgeting, performance management, and operational planning.
✅ Stay Connected to the Work: This isn't a desk job. You'll make management decisions while remaining actively involved in agricultural operations.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Lead People & Drive Accountability
Lead employees and contractors across four beef cattle farms.
Set expectations, establish priorities, and hold your team accountable.
Lead by example, develop employees, and take ownership of results.
2. Oversee Cattle & Farm Operations
Manage daily cattle operations, animal welfare, feeding, and facility standards.
Coordinate maintenance, equipment repairs, and farm improvements.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
3. Build Systems & Improve Performance
Develop systems, processes, and KPIs to measure farm performance.
Analyze operational data to improve productivity and profitability.
Implement technology, reporting tools, and procedures that drive efficiency.
4. Manage Construction & Projects
Help lead the construction of two new cattle barns.
Coordinate contractors, budgets, timelines, and project deliverables.
Oversee facility upgrades, capital projects, and maintenance improvements.
Who We're Looking For
We want someone who combines strong agricultural experience with the mindset of a business leader.
The ideal candidate is:
A Natural Leader: Confident directing people, establishing expectations, making decisions, and holding others accountable.
A Problem Solver: Someone who sees challenges as opportunities to find better solutions.
Analytical & Data-Driven: Comfortable interpreting numbers, questioning results, and making informed decisions.
Systems-Oriented: Enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and developing repeatable systems.
Decisive & Accountable: Willing to make difficult decisions and take responsibility for the outcome.
Hands-On: Comfortable working directly with livestock, equipment, facilities, and employees.
Organized & Detail-Oriented: Able to manage multiple farms, people, projects, and priorities without losing track of commitments.
Results-Focused: Motivated by measurable improvements rather than simply staying busy.
Agriculturally Minded: Understands farming, respects the realities of livestock operations, and has a genuine interest in agriculture.
